Almost every team in college basketball has been touched by gun violence.
Play Smart, Save Lives is an advocacy organization made up of coaches, players and anyone who loves the sport of basketball (even referees!) who REFUSE TO ACCEPT THE CARNAGE THAT RIPS TEAMS AND COMMUNITIES APART.
We want EVERYONE to embrace safe storage. Why? Because it will save lives!
According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, 41% of Americans live with guns in their house. Even further, 75% of those Americans say that those guns are stored loaded, in an unlocked location, or stored with the ammunition.
College coaches and players across the country are joining PLAY SMART’s Safe Summer to support gun storage as an immediate step to save lives. We aim to raise awareness, educate, and motivate people across the country to keep their firearms locked and separate from ammunition.
Summer can often be a more dangerous time for our players and all of us. Raise your voice now — it WILL save lives!
